Profound Strengthens Its Presence Across Asia-Pacific
AI marketing platform Profound has established Singapore as its Asia-Pacific headquarters, marking a major step in its regional expansion. The new hub will house the company’s regional leadership, go-to-market and customer teams, supporting businesses across Southeast Asia, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
The company plans to open its Singapore office in the Central Business District in the fourth quarter of 2026. It also expects to create more than 15 local roles over the next 12 months, including positions in regional management, sales, customer engagement and account management.
Some members of Profound’s New York team will relocate to Singapore for a year to help establish the regional operation.
AI Is Changing How Consumers Discover Brands
The expansion comes as consumers increasingly turn to AI platforms such as ChatGPT and Gemini to research products, compare services and make purchasing decisions.
According to Profound, an analysis of 1.8 million anonymised ChatGPT and Gemini conversations from users in Singapore found that conversations involving product and service research, comparison or purchasing grew by 23% between January and September 2026.
The company also cited Stanford HAI’s 2026 AI Index, which reported that 61% of Singapore’s population uses AI tools.
As AI-generated answers become part of the buying journey, brands are paying closer attention to how their products and services appear in these responses. This is creating demand for tools that help marketing teams understand brand visibility across AI-powered search and answer platforms.
Supporting the Next Phase of AI Marketing
Profound’s platform helps marketers analyse how brands appear in AI-generated answers and identify opportunities to improve their visibility. Its AI-powered workbench also supports marketing teams with research, content creation, reporting and the deployment of AI agents.
The Singapore headquarters is expected to bring the company closer to regional customers and help it respond to the growing demand for AI marketing solutions.
Profound Co-Founder and CEO James Cadwallader said the company had already seen interest from brands across the region before establishing a local presence. He described Singapore as a natural base for its next phase of growth.
The Singapore Economic Development Board also welcomed the decision, noting that the expansion would create management, go-to-market and headquarters opportunities while contributing to the country's AI ecosystem.
Expansion Follows $180 Million Funding Round
The regional expansion follows Profound’s $180 million Series D funding round announced in September 2026. The round was co-led by Sequoia Capital and Kleiner Perkins.
With its Singapore headquarters, Profound is positioning itself to work more closely with businesses across Asia-Pacific as AI-powered discovery becomes an increasingly important part of digital marketing.
The move also reflects a wider shift in the marketing industry: brands are no longer focused only on ranking in traditional search results. They are increasingly looking to understand how AI platforms interpret, recommend and present their businesses to potential customers.
